Detailed report on technology and operations of the IGCC plant in Puertollano, Spain. Concludes that the IGCC technology being developed at ELCOGAS has reached a sufficient level of maturity to be considered in the planning of new energy to be incorporated in the electricity generating network. The operation and maintenance costs reached, in addition to achievable installation costs in larger units, with the modifications being advised as a result of the experience acquired, enable the assurance of energy costs competitive with other energies within the market, under improved conditions with regard to the security of supply and extremely adequate, from the point of view of current environmental demands and those anticipated in the future. |
