Clean-Energy.us Summary

Technical paper describing successful demonstration of a volatile mercury removal system on a coal-based IGCC powerplant. Equipment installed and tested in the Polk IGCC plant near Tampa, Florida, removed nearly all of the mercury from the syngas stream. Paper postulates that removal of 98% to 99% of volatile mercury is practical in an IGCC facility.
