Technical paper describing how the U.S. Department of Energy's Clean Coal Technology (CCT) Program has -- since its inception in 1985 -- helped reduce air pollution levels in the United States. Provides a useful summary of the Clean Air Act's (CAA) regulation of air pollutants and discusses how the CCT has helped meet CAA goals and objectives. IGCC's contributions are discussed.
