Negishi

Nippon Petroleum Refining Corporation's 342 MWe gasification power plant went on line in mid-2003.

The world's newest gasification power plant is located in a suburban area of Yokohama, Japan. Owned and operated by the refining subsidiary of Nippon Oil Corporation, the Negishi project uses 2,000 metric tons per day of refinery residue (asphalt) to produce 342 MWe of electricity. The Negishi power plant currently provides 8,232kW of retail electric power to All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd., and 5,800 kW to government and other public offices.
